Head of the Administration of Ekaterinburg Alexander Yakob on Tuesday, 15 November 2011, held the first-ever meeting of the organizing committee of Yekaterinburg, associated with the preparation and conduct of games of the World Cup in 2018.

Presentations were made by Head of the Department for Development of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism Administration of Ekaterinburg Ludmila Fitina. According to her, a significant step in preparation for the World Cup has already been made: The reconstruction of "Central stadium", the Administration of Yekaterinburg signed a unilateral agreement on participation in the organization and holding of the World Cup, according to which the city should provide a sports stadium, meets all the requirements of FIFA; a lot of work done in the preparation of different material for application book on the World Cup.

In addition, the requirements of FIFA receiving party should provide four training bases. Subsequently, the organizing committee will choose two of them and one spare key. Another requirement of FIFA - smooth operation of the health system. We define urban and regional hospitals, which, if necessary, will take fans and participants of the world championship.

Thus, the World Cup will lead to the development of the entire infrastructure of Yekaterinburg: health, property, services and supplies, various environmental and transport activities.

It should be noted that the inspections of the preparation of candidate cities for the World Cup will start in April 2012.
