June 23rd at the FIFA Fan Fest in Ekaterinburg, you could observe an unprecedented bunch of dances, gymnastics and acrobatics. The regional cheerleading festival was launched on the Fan Fest Venue. The organizers of the event were the public organization "Federation of Cheerleading of the Sverdlovsk Region", the all-Russian public organization "Federation of Sports and Cheerleading Federation of Russia" and the host city of the FIFA World Cup - Ekaterinburg.
The competing teams dedicated their compositions to the participating countries in the World Cup playing in Ekaterinburg. So, on stage could be seen entertainment dedicated to Mexico and Japan, Uruguay and Senegal, Egypt and Sweden, France and Peru in a friendly way.
Between live broadcasting of matches, on the stage real battles unfolded in the most complicated categories of cheerleading - freestyle deuces, groups and partner stunts. All participants of the competitions were awarded with prizes from the city-organizer. The first day of Cheerleading weekend ended with a bright demonstration performance of multiple champions of Russia, champions and vice-champions of Europe - the "PHENOMEN-A" team for the anthem of the Championship of Russia on cheerleading, written and performed by BOGACHI.
The matches of the past day were fascinating with the heat of emotions and unexpected endings! Mexicans in a match with South Korea secured an early exit to the 1/8 finals. As well as the Belgians, who scored five goals against Tunisia that only managed to grab two goals. And the most exciting match was the clash between Germany and Sweden – During their last attack in the 94th minute, Germany managed to snatch a victory, without which their path through the World Cup next phase could have been compromised.
Today at the Fan Fest Cheerleading Weekend continues. Everyone is waiting for very interesting dances, the positiveness and drive of the sea! For the youngest fans on the site, the venue is equipped with a special playground where they can safely have fun. Fans of their age can compete in mini football fields. Without forgetting that the loudest fan is a well-fed one, food court areas with traditional Ural cuisine will not leave anyone indifferent.
